The purple object that the teacher in this picture is using is a COW. COW stands for Curriculum On Wheels, and a COW is a specially designed piece of technology intended to enhance learning in social studies and science.
You will meet the COW when you arrive in 6th grade. Our COW is really a stand-alone PC combined with a projector and a set of speakers on wheels. The computer is pre-loaded with all kinds of educational materials about science and social studies topics, so that we can use them to help us with the things we are studying. There are short videos, songs, diagrams, slide shows, quizzes, etc. The COW is a lively and active way to learn about many of the things that we will study during the 6th grade year.
